The Sewcial at theYARD:artspace

The first Sewcial of the year is in the bag, and wow, what a fantastic day it was in the company of an enthusiastic and lively bunch of stitchers!
The workshop took place at artist Sue Brown's creative hub, theYARD:artspace in Cheltenham.
As you may recall, no one knows what the workshop topic will be for a Sewcial until they arrive. Yesterday's group found themselves focusing on the concept of positive and negative space, experimenting with eyelet and needle weaving techniques and facing the challenge of how to apply these principles to a glass jar (the jar having negative space within it). The photo's demonstrate some of the day's sampling activity.
Sue Brown's bird prints have their beady eyes on the Sewcial suitcase treasures...

If you'd like to try your hand at a Sewcial challenge the next workshop will take place on Friday 8th September 2017, once again, at theYARD:artspace. There are a limited number of spaces available so it really is best to book early. For more details please follow the link HERE
