It Began with a Doodle

Once upon a time a curly doodle
languishing on a cool, white page was tapped on the shoulder by a magic silver needle.
"Are you ready for an adventure Little Doodle?"
In a shower of colourful sparks the doodle felt itself lifted from the page and, rising into the air, found it was transformed into a thousand colourful strands of silky thread.

"Now let's take those threads for a walk" said the Silver Needle...

Taking a few quick pen doodles as our starting point led to a morning of 'walking' threads around embroidery hoops and onto vintage linens & cotton fabrics to create patterns and layers of stitch at yesterday's workshop at Blue Ginger Gallery. We had a super morning with some lovely results taking shape. Here are some works in progress from the day.

Shush, they're concentrating...

Lovely post .... doodlembroidery is the best kind x

Wonderful stitching could be good for embroiderers block! I love the lime green on dark linen(?).
